For 484 days now, more than 80 people, among them children, elderly, wounded, and innocent civilians, have been captive in the tunnels. The agreements for the return of the hostages, which were accepted in January, allow for the slow return of only some of them in a manner designed to inflict psychological terror. We do not know who will return, who is injured, or whether they are alive at all. In Gaza, we are also horrified to see the return of only few people to their homes, most of which are destroyed. This return is very partial, Hamas is regaining strength and continues to pose a serious threat, jeopardizing peace and stability in the region, and the war is ongoing.

We worry that Israel and Hamas may not proceed to the second stage of the deal and might resume fighting. We invite you to join our gathering to call for the continuation of the hostage deal until the end of this war and to work on a plan for a peaceful future for the region.

On Saturday, February 1st, from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Marktstätte, we will gather to remember, show solidarity, donate to the families of the hostages, and call for an end to the war.
